When sending documents from Japan to another country, it takes time to work out which carrier to use and how long and how much it will cost. To help, we have put together the delivery times and costs we have seen when sending documents from Tokyo.
- Delivery times can be delayed by flight schedules and other factors.
- Please treat the figures below as rough guides only. Delivery times can differ between regions within the same country.
- FedEx and DHL charges are not fixed and change slightly depending on when the shipment is sent. The DHL charges below are standard rates.
- Costs are for documents weighing up to 500 g, in Japanese yen including tax.
- FedEx delivery times are about the same as DHL, and FedEx is sometimes JPY 2,000–3,000 cheaper, so it is worth comparing.
- If speed does not matter and you want the lowest cost, registered international airmail is also an option. It costs from around JPY 1,000 to most countries, but it is not available to some countries.
